Joining Oxford Urban Wildlife Group.

As a member of Oxford Urban Wildlife Group you can:

  • take part in a wide range of activities to explore ourlocal environment
  • receive a three-monthlynewsletter containinglocal wildlife news, articles of local interestand listings ofevents run by Oxfordconservation groups.
  • take part in worthwhile conservation work at Boundary Brook, getting fresh air and exercise in this "greengym".
  • help
  • learn new skills either informally on site or by attendingformal training courses.
  • join walks in Oxford's green places.
  • attend wildlifetalks often with topics of local interest.
  • take part in surveys of areas of interest or perhaps under threat of development.
  • and take part in many Oxford celebrations and events such as Wolvercote Apple Day, Elder Stubbs Allotment Festival and the ROHS annual event.

If you would be willing to help occasionally with any of the following - please would you tick any items below (as appropriate) so that we could contact you, to see if you are free, when we need help.


  • Displaying posters on a board or window.
  • Helping on a stall at Open Days/Fun in the Parks.
  • Deliver and/or collect plants to/from a stall
  • Show school groups around Boundary Brook.
  • Write something for the quarterly newsletter.
  • Provide line drawings/photos for the newsletter.
  • Overwinter immature plants for later sale.
  • Provide physical help at the Nature Park on an occasional basis.
  • Give a talk on a subject relevant to the group (we have our own projector).
  • Help with botanical surveys (experience not essential).
  • Research and comment on planning applications.
  • Join the Committee which meets about 6 times a year.
