Creativity in Nature and New Woodland Shelter

It’s finished! Introducing our new Woodland Shelter, an educational space for the many children and young people’s groups we welcome on site at Boundary Brook Nature Reserve daily during term time and after school every week through out the year. Designed by young people, built together, for young people’s groups. Throughout the summer many families enjoyed the Art in Nature sessions with Helen Edwards which provided ideas and artwork for the shelter.

It is a beautiful space where you can feel the dappling of sunlight, the changing seasons and the earth below.
Young people can have fun, built memories together and feel closer to nature.

Photos above show the ideas in progress, the inside of the shelter made with sweet chestnut poles and colourful canvas, the completed shelter and the patterns of leaf shadows on the canvas. We were delighted to work with Julian Angus on this project.
