This February BBOWT (Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust) are running four practical, hands-on, outdoor learning experiences where you can learn some of the traditional skills that will help maintain the natural gem that is Boundary Brook Nature Park in the heart of Oxford, and to preserve a special haven for people & wildlife for many years to come.

Saturday 16th February, 10am to 4pm, FREE

Hedge Laying

Saturday 9th February, 10am to 4pm, FREE

Saturday 23rd February, 10am to 4pm, FREE

  • With each of these full day courses, you will cover the basics of coppicing and/or hedge laying and learn all the necessary skills & techniques that are required for successful coppicing & hedge laying.
  • You will learn why these traditional woodland management skills are so beneficial to wildlife, creating the ideal conditions for many plants, animals, insects & birds to thrive.
  • The courses are designed for absolute beginners wanting to learn, or for those who already have some experience but want to practice and improve.
  • By the end of the day you will have contributed towards making this hidden natural gem in the heart of Oxford an oasis of flourishing wildflowers, butterflies, bees and birdsong.

Courses are aimed at adults 18+ (children under 18 are welcome but we politely ask that they must be accompanied by an adult please).

Tea and coffee will be provided but please bring your own food for lunch & snacks.

Please dress sensibly for the weather as we will be outside!.
