Boundary Brook has a surprising number of veteran trees. Some date back to the days of Edwardian allot

ments, long before dwarfing stocks became mandatory; now they play the role of elder statesman in much younger woodland. A handful of ancient pollards reach back still further, to the time when our site was Lammas meadow, as it was at least since the medieval era.

If you would like an introduction to these denizens of Boundary Brook Nature Reserve, join Pete on a guided walk around the site on Sunday 6th February at 3pm. In addition, we can discuss the delights of tree planting, some of the problems they experience in adolescence and strategies for creating communities of trees, shrubs and plants that will flourish and prosper longer after we’re gone.

No booking necessary; OUWG Members and their friends are welcome simply to turn up.
